Who we are

The Health Security for New Mexicans Campaign is a large and diverse coalition that believes that the best way to control rising health care costs and ensure access is for New Mexico to create its own health plan that guarantees affordable, comprehensive coverage,  freedom of choice of provider, and simplifies  our costly administratively complex multi-payer system.  It would be administered by a geographically representative citizens’ board (like a co-op). Private insurance may play a supplemental role, as it does in many European countries (and as is the case with traditional Medicare).
